Unplug all network devices including the PS3 system. Wait a few minutes before turning them back on – this will refresh the network settings. Check your router manual — to connect with a PS3 system, your router must support 802.11b or 802.11g wireless protocols. My router broadcasts a 2.5 and 5 GHz signal and I have no problem picking up the latter on my laptop or cell phone but I really can't tell for sure with the PS3 because I live in an apartment complex and the scan feature seems to randomly pick 5 or 6 hotspots and it takes 3-4 scans before I can find my own access point. The PlayStation 3 operates on 802.11 b/g/n 2.4GHz networks and won't be able to find your network if your router is set to operate in 5GHz only mode.
